There are a two physical indicators of a great athlete: speed of muscle recruitment and overall muscle recruitment. When a muscle recruits quickly and fully in response to an action, agility is strong, power output is high, and reaction time is near instantaneous. Altogether, this physical response is key to not only to athletic success but to preventing injury.
